Cowdray Sponsored Ride

Joan Langmead and Ronnie Perrin organised the ride with their customary flair and attention to detail. Good to see the whips, Kate, Foggy and Julian keeping their hands in with Charles Homan on a new horse, which did not want to jump the first four, but then started jumping from the fifth and cleared all other jumps. Not bad for the first time jumping proper jumps...

Joan writes:

'The ride was fantastic, the course better than ever, the helpers were really, really good and the atmosphere was one of sheer pleasure from riders and helpers to grannies, grandpas and children alike...And the sun shone. Your dance worked wonders Robin [I think that had better remain our secret , Joan]. All packed away now for next year with the help of Mark Teear, Tim Mardles and his son Robert, who was our 'sweeper' on his quad and all the Scout team and, I nearly forgot, Barry, who was great the weekend before with Dave (Rees) from the kennels. The stewards were remarkable, arriving on time with no grumbles at all.  All in all, a terrific day!'
